Transform Rock Candy into Gem-Inspired Jewelry for a “She’s a Gem” Party
I thoroughly embraced the ‘She’s a Gem’ theme for my daughter’s 11th birthday party and decided to transform rock candy into gem-inspired jewelry.
The highlight of her birthday party was a trip to the Kendra Scott Color Bar, where each girl got the opportunity to build a beautiful piece of jewelry.
To add a special touch to the party, I created gem-inspired rock candy treats for the girls to enjoy on our ride to the jewelry store.
It was incredibly easy, a lot of fun, and a DIY project anyone can do.

How to Transform Your Rock Candy for Your She’s a Gem Party
1. Prepare the Rock Candy
Begin by cutting open the bottom of each rock candy wrapper and carefully removing the candy.
2. Apply Edible Gold Leaf
Spread the gold leaf onto parchment paper.
Dip a chopstick in water, then use it to pick up small pieces of golf leaf.
Gently apply the gold leaf to the rock candy, repeating until you achieve the desired amount of coverage.
3. Rewrap and Decorate
Once everything has dried and is not sticky to the touch, place the rock candy back into its wrapper and secure the end with festive ribbon.
